Having worked in the industry for over 35 years Shayne Turner has made a name for himself as an outstanding member in his field. Shayne started his career as an officer and made his way up to managerial roles and then to director levels, and has been involved in all disciplines and areas of interest within the field of municipal law enforcement. Shayne's years in the industry have given him significant oversight in the development of by-laws and by-law amendments, report writing, policy development, formulation of standard operating procedures and set fine development. This includes Shayne developing strategic directions and business plans for municipal law enforcement as well as undertaking operational and service level reviews, as well as extensive experience in presenting reports and recommendations to municipal Councils.
During his career Shayne has developed and administered a wide range of training and education programs with a focus on legislative authority, officer safety, investigative and compliance procedures as well as court preparation and court decorum. Shayne has also served on a wide range of working groups, committees and task forces across Ontario, focusing on issues that impact municipalities and the municipal enforcement sector.
